Rihanna displays America’s good, bad and ugly moments in new video
The American Oxygen video originally debuted on Tidal but is now available outside of the subscription service. It is one of Rihanna’s better, new singles and has a somewhat political stance. The video displays some of America’s good, bad and ugly moments.
It includes archive footage of Obama’s inauguration, Martin Luther King, Occupy Wall Street, Ferguson protests and immigrants crossing the border.
The song and video seem very open to interpretation, when questioning Rihanna’s message intent.
“This is the new America, we are the new America” she ends the thought-provoking visual.
