The ‘UK’s new collaborative power couple’ have done it again, take a listen
This week, I’ve got last week’s UK number one on repeat. The combination of Calvin Harris’ perfect production with Florence Welch’s distinctively dark but emotive vocals make for an absolutely amazing song – Sweet Nothing. I’m loving Florence’s androgynous portrayal in the video too.
Sweet Nothing is the fifth single from Calvin Harris’ third studio album 18 Months. The single marks the second number one this year for the two that have now been dubbed the ‘UK’s new collaborative power couple’.
18 Months was released via Sony Music Entertainment on October 26 and is a ‘half compilation of what I’ve done in the last 18 months and half new stuff,’ says the DJ.
Harris’ third LP features vocals from Kelis, Example, Ellie Goulding, Tinie Tempah, Dizzee Rascal, Ne–Yo, Ayah Marar and Rihanna on smash hit We Found Love. The track Calvin said changed everything for him.
Be sure to give the album a listen. Calvin Harris is one of the superstar DJs who has changed the face of electronic and dance music. A lot of the mainstream appreciation it now receives is testament to the production and skill of the Dumfries-born musician, as well as his ability to adapt and collaborate with a vast range of artists.
