Listen to M.I.A.’s ‘Bad Girls’ – nominated for Best Video at the MTV EMAs this year

M.I.A. has been nominated for Best Video at the MTV EMAs 2012 – the only category that is not open to public voting and the winner determined by an MTV panel. If I had any say, this video would definitely win.

M.I.A. reveals inspirations for the video – ‘once I saw an image of a Iranian chick, driving a truck and she was wearing like this crazy outfit, and loads of gold and amazing nails and super feminine but she was like all covered up and she was a trucker.’

Director, Romain Gavras, who also directed the controversial Born Free, explains how he ‘must have watched all these videos of Saudi’s drifting on two wheels’ and he and M.I.A. ‘were mesmerised’ when they stumbled across them.
