Peep the preview for Rihanna’s ‘Rockstar’ video

Rated R! Rated R! Rated R! Yeah, yeah, yeah (before I’d heard ‘Hard’). Erm but yeah, that was the hype. Rated R was coming out.

I love the album and the whole rock feel just draws me in even more. One of my favourite songs on the album Rated R is ‘Rockstar 101′ featuring Slash, former lead guitarist of Guns N’ Roses. She’s making a video for it. Here’s the preview… I’m eagerly anticipating the release of the full video.

I wasn’t too bothered about the album initially but I liked ‘Russian Roulette‘. Although as soon as I heard ‘Hard,’ I downloaded the rest of the album and immediately fell in love. Everyone’s reaction to ‘Rated R’ was ‘ooh Rihanna’s gone mad man’. Erm, no! How about she decided to experiment with a different style. This just proves the point I made in one of my previous posts, that points out how people are not receptive to unfamiliar styles/genres of music.

If we listen to her first album Music of the Sun, her second A Girl Like Me, her third Good Girl Gone Bad, and then her most recent Rated R we’ll hear the progression. Yes her musical style has changed a lot but it’s not her going mad. It means she’s progressed.
